Sole Developer who wishes to expand his business

A sole developer in the USA, Bob, earns money writing PHP websites. Bob has a small established customer base but is starting to get more jobs than he can handle. He contacts Andrew Cocks at Cheesy Design, and Andrew hires a PHP developer with 5+ years of experience to perform programming duties for half the hourly rate that the American developer charges his customers. The Bob manages his own customer relationships but is able to take on more programming jobs. As the business increases Chessy Design hires more PHP developers. As Bob's income increases he forms a company and tells his customers that he is hiring more people. At this point Cheesy Design moves to providing front line technical support services on behalf of Bob's company, Bob is also able to hire another local person to handle face to face customer relations. All up Bob has been able to greatly increase his income, and is able to provide a more complete service to his customers.

Small company wishing to be able to ramp up quickly for a new job

A small Australian company has been doing well contracting out Software Engineers to perform hourly programming work for a Government department. The government department wishes to engage with private industry to have a large custom application written for them. While the Australian company feels that they have the expertise to do a better job at writing the application than the normal big players, they unfornately don't have the readily available man power to take on the large project. The company contacts John Stewien at Cheesy Design. John checks his sources to see if he can hire sufficient developers with the right skills for the job required as finds that he can. John flies to Australia for a couple of months to help work on the tender process. The company wins the job and John Stewien flies back to Taiwan where he and Andrew Cocks go about hiring the developers. The job starts, deliverables are made at regular intervals and specfications are updated as required. After 3 years the project is delivered under budget, but has a high usability, and a low number of bugs. The Australian company then picks up the support contract, with the front line 24/7 support being handled by Cheesy Design in Taiwan. Local Australian telephone numbers are provided to the customer with the numbers being forward to Taiwan through Skype.
